 Poughkeepsie Journal, Dec. 2014 - Dec. 2017

"Hudson Valley Forward"

Hudson Valley Forward was a project chronicling residents of the Hudson Valley who are navigating the growing nontraditional work landscape. In additional to four of the seven vignettes, I also produced the overview video for the project.

"What I Love"

"What I Love" was a series focusing on Dutchess County residents and their hobbies.

"Patio Sessions"

Patio Sessions was a series filmed over two consecutive summers showcasing local musicians with performances on the patio outside of the Poughkeepsie Journal building.

"The Long Road Home"

This was an eight-month-long project I put together on my own at the Journal. Focusing on five local veterans, the series depicted each of their successes and challenges while readjusting back to the civilian world. I also wrote the accompanying written piece and took all of the photos.

Special Project: Independent Cambridge

Independent Cambridge was a semester-long project I completed with three of my peers for my final undergraduate journalism class at Boston University--a "senior capstone" project, if you will. Using the skills we developed over the last three years, we decided to profile four local, independently owned businesses in Cambridge, MA, and examine their struggles and triumphs. We created a Wordpress-based website, four videos and articles, dozens of photographs, quizzes, and accompanying graphics. My main contribution involved the two videos you see here, although I also copy-edited the articles, took photos, and designed all of the logos and graphics. You can see the finished product here.

For one of my classes at Boston University, my peers and I produced a multimedia story on four businesses in Cambridge, Mass. to highlight the successes, struggles, and everyday occurrences of owning and running a small, independent business.

She highlights Strength for Life, a Long Island-based non-profit organization that offers exercise classes to cancer patients and survivors. Their mission is to ensure a better recovery from cancer diagnoses through exercise, while also creating a support group for participants.
