Documentary

The following videos are examples of my documentary video work. Unlike my journalism work, these pieces are feature-length productions involving more robust storytelling elements.

“Be Immersed: Music of the Gilded Age in the Hudson Valley”

This is an ongoing series focusing on music of the Gilded Age in the Hudson Valley. The project’s creator, Dr. Christopher Brellochs, contacted me specifically to bring his initial vision to life. Each episode focuses on a different historic mansion located in the Hudson Valley in New York. Dr. Brellochs’ narration and interviews with local historians provide context to the period and the music. Along with a handful of fellow musicians, he also performs period-appropriate music at each location, something only the very wealthy would have had access to at the time.

I produced to the first two episodes of this project, as well as trailers and several standalone videos of certain pieces Dr. Brellochs wanted to highlight. Initially edited into 20-minute episodes, Dr. Brellochs has published these in shorter increments.
